Going Against Another Person, Going Against God

Have you ever felt the feeling of being jealous of what someone has?
That you are willing to exchange a day of your life with a day of another person?

We can never really do that...
But if it would be possible, we would certainly do it.

Have you ever found yourself COMPETING with someone,
When there is no competition at all?

It was just suppose to be a duet! (Picture above)

When you are just competing with someone
Because for you, there is a competition.
You WANT TO TAKE HIS PLACE!

You compete with someone else to prove to yourself that you are still better in that aspect A,
even though the other person is better in aspect B

For example,

You want to be the 1st honor in your class.
Yet here comes another guy, who is much smarter than you.

He has the higher chance of getting the 1st honor position that you want.
So deep inside you, you are bitter.

You act kind and nice when he is around,
But when he's gone, you try to put him down by spreading a rumor or commenting negatively about an action he did.

You want to show that you mean well,
But actually, your intention is the opposite.

And when this continues,
You will just see yourself competing with him in every aspect that he is good at
To prove to yourself that you are far greater than him.

It is like a spreading disease.
It spreads deep in you,
until you will just realize that you have done
So many great things,
You have reached this far,
Pushed yourself to the limit
All because you want to satisfy and convince yourself that you are BETTER than him.

You have labored with the wrong motive:
To be BETTER THAN HIM

This mostly happens to siblings.
But it also happens to acquaintances, especially at work

It is loosing yourself, your identity
Because you want to take and have the identity of another person.

You cannot be free to be yourself,
Because you are enslaved to "being another person".

You want an identity that is not yours.
You cannot appreciate the YOU that you are meant to be,
Because you HAVE NOT GIVEN YOURSELF A CHANCE TO BE YOU.

But have you ever realized that
You are competing with God?

By competing with another person
You are competing with what GOD HAS GIVEN and IS DOING in that person's life.

God is the ONE WHO GAVE THE PERSON THE looks, talents, resources, skills, voice, moves, intelligence, body, hair, family, school, boyfriend, etc. that you want.

It is really hard to PURSUE THE LIFE OF ANOTHER PERSON,
To have the goal of: BEING JUST LIKE HIM.

Other people could be inspirations, YES.
But this DOES NOT MEAN that you restrict yourself by mimicking or taking the life that they have.

It's hard to FIT YOUR FOOT IN THE SHOES OF ANOTHER PERSON.
No matter what you do, it's either it WON'T FIT or it WON'T FIT WELL.

It is not really for you.
You will just have callouses for FORCING yourself.

SATISFACTION nowadays is hard to find.
Actually, it CANNOT BE FOUND.
It is CHOSEN.
It is PRAYED FOR.
It is a GIFT.

It is given when you have a deeper understanding of why people are diverse.
You appreciate the uniqueness of each person.
You will not desire to be someone else anymore.

Why don't you just ask your DAD,
He is ever so willing to give!

Matthew 7:7
[ Ask, Seek, Knock ] “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

But just like any loving Father,
He also sifts what He gives

Even though HE REALLY WANTS TO GIVE THE THING TO HIS CHILD.
Because HE IS AFTER THE WELFARE of HIS child.

James 4:3
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

Do NOT forget that
HIS CHILD'S happiness IS HIS happiness.

Find your satisfaction in God.
Ask HIM.

He IS ABLE TO ANSWER YOU
And DEAL WITH YOU in your UNIQUE situation.
