The Orchard held the Juniors and Seniors’ Promenade last February 22, 2008 (Friday) at 7:00 p.m. to 12 midnight.

Its lounge was filled with vibrancy and life as the girls became women and the boys became princes.

Dramatic entrances were made true thanks to the dim-lighted lounge and the fountain island.

Parents showed their support not just by providing extravagant apparels and the like but also by being there.

And of course, grinning faces made the finishing touches.

As the teachers said, ‘there is time for everything’, and JS Prom was a time of merry making and socialization.

JS Prom is an important and awaited night for the students and those excited parents, so teachers as well as relatives wanted to keep the moment fresh by making those cameras flashing. Then the program began.

A grand march from the lounge to the hall in the second floor was made by the Juniors, Seniors, JCS faculty and staff with their respective partners.

The hall was quite small but the atmosphere was enticing. Although Ms. Lyn Mercado was there she didn’t host but Ms. Mean replaced her. Rodelio dela Cruz, high school student council president, gave an invocation and also led the prayer, followed by the National Anthem led by Ms. Rona Solis. Ms. Mency Fernandez, JCS principal gave the welcome remarks and the introduction to the guest speakers, Ptr. Jon Naron and his wife, Let Naron.

Ptr. Jon and Let gave inspiring messages and personal experiences back-upped with entertaining yet meaningful video clips. True love waits was the theme.

Ptr. Naron emphasized the fact that he waited for his wife. He loved her before they met. He prepared for her. He didn’t give portions of his heart to other women, so he is proud to say that her wife got his whole, undiminished, unblemished heart. Plus he avoided heartaches unlike his wife, Let, who gave a testimony about her past relationships and heartaches.

Let Naron left an example by the means of scotch tape. She said that affection is like scotch tape, the more you remove it from its place; the more it looses it’s adhesive. And later on, you’ll have enough. A contrast it may seem, but they used them as heart piercing truths to the young listeners. They are hoping that the Juniors and Seniors will choose the better path as shown by Ptr. Jon Naron.
Dinnertime was fun and conscious time.

 Friends were telling jokes.

Eating was formal. Ptr. Naron and his wife left when dinner was done.

After retouching in the C.R., Juniors and Seniors paraded their apparels in front of the teachers and other students.

Then the Prom king and queen were announced. Alfred Logico and Sharmaine Regencia owned the stage as they were awarded as Prom king and queen of the night. They also led the candlelighting ceremony in which every participant was given a candle.

The Prom king and queen read the meaning of the lighted candles, a living hope for everyone. The class presidents were called to stand in front and read the meaning of the wooden key. Kim Virata, 4th year class president, handed down the wooden key to Alyanna Palma, 3rd class president.

This turn-over ceremony is a symbolism that the 4th year students, as represented by Kim Virata, are formally turning over the responsibilities to the 3rd year students, as represented by Alyanna Palma. Each class took vows in responsibility to what the wooden key symbolizes.

Kristine Daus gave the 4th Year prophecy. It put a smile on everyone’s face while taking him or her to the future.

The prophecy tells about a prediction of what the 4th Year may be in the coming future.

The teachers, with their boogie performance, introduced dancing.

The 3rd Year boys took the floor by storm with their fascinating performance.  (Classmate ko yan! haha!)

As the ladies and lords with Ms. Rona Solis danced and free flowing gowns were in the dance floor, all watched the Rigodon de Honor.

Joseph Kang on the microphone and the band, Kyle Ahn on the drums, Rodelio dela Cruz, Jacob Kim and Alfred Logico on the guitars, made music in the night.

They rendered oldies but goodies love songs. Yet everyone knows them and danced to the beat.

But the program was not through yet.

The dance for all came and teachers paired and exchanged the student to each other.

Like Cinderella, “the moment” had to end after 12 midnight. After the last song, the attendees still gathered at the lounge. In the entire program, the parents were at the backside of the hall watching, but some parents were not there knowing that parents were not allowed during the program.

The Promenade was a wonderful night for the teens and those who witnessed it. Ptr. Naron said that the effect of the Promenade would be seen after it was done. People were in the lounge once again, but this time it was goodbye.
