I have been fond of writing, since I was already exposed to advance reading materials.
I remember being so fanatic about writing that I planned to learn 30 unusual words a day, so I could use them in writing and “amaze” the readers.
The sort of “amazement” which pushes the readers to look at a dictionary before they fully understand what the phrase or sentence really meant.
It was kinda, no. Let me rephrase that. It was REALLY a prideful thing for me to do that. I was seeking praise for myself. Haha!
Yet good thing that was not fueled. Good thing nobody really bothered to “praise” me, or else I’ll still be doing that odd thing until today.
I noticed nobody really cared about looking at the “amazing” words at the dictionary. They use context clues to understand what I meant. Haha! Silly. Waste of time.
I can’t even remember the words that I painfully squeeze into my young mind then. Blaaaaaaaaah!
Ordinary words, the usual words are really the best words to use when writing. (Yup! Based on experience, beybeh!)
To let the readers know what I really, really, really mean in the context that I am talking about, I SHOULD use ORDINARY words, those words that we hear often. They are easier to grasp.
When I can’t catch my feeling with words, those ordinary words make it simpler for me to embody them. J
Using ordinary adjective words to describe what I mean gives me the many options of how to present them.
The combined impact of ORDINARY adjectives targets what I really mean, and so I could make the readers relate to it.
It is really an effort to try to describe something with so many simple adjectives, yet it also gives a sort “drama”, because it seems like a puzzle that the reader tries to unify before he/ she gets it.
Readers may have slight variations in how they interpret what I write, yet they are all in the same pace J
